O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree. How lovely are thy branches! How not so lovely are the pictures. But it was a fun experimentation for me. Bonus points for me! I took pictures in MANUAL mode on my point and shoot camera! I still don’t understand what in the world I did but that’s okay. Right?
These aren’t even all the pictures I took. I deleted at least twice this amount.
Camera settings. Um. 1/30 (shutter speed?). f2.8 (aperture?). iso 1600. I think?
I was fairly pleased with what I came up with. We already know I am not a photographer. And then I took one last picture. And played with a few settings on the computer.
I adore how this picture is warmer than the rest of them! So cozy. And of course, my precious little daughter. Now the rest of them seem lacking.
I love how bright your tree is, do you leave it on through the night? I agree, that picture at the bottom is the best, and the warmth is visible in all parts of it. I like the reflection off the floor too!
ReplyDeleteYep, you got all the numbers right. The first is shutter speed {to get a nice photo of Christmas lights, you want a slow shutter speed & preferably a tripod or some way to keep the camera really still}. The f-stop is aperture - number is good. ISO is high, which is probably also pretty good for a shot like that. You did good! I love the reflection on the wood floor and the detail photos. :)
